The Easiest Way to Maintain A/C System on a Car

Sometime you may feel that the air condition in your car is not maintaining the best level of satisfaction when you drive the car in a hot day. Then you feel to open the shutters to get some fresh air into the car. However, when you open the shutters, it is difficult to drive the car due to the noises coming from outside and if there is more traffic on the road, there should be more polluted air and gasses around. 

To avoid this bad feeling, you try to close the shutters and drive the car even you feel uncomfortable. Perhaps you already have felt this situation. Whatever, if you maintain your vehicle A/C system properly, you will not feel those troubles that we have discussed above.

Basically, if there is even a small gas leak in you’re A/C system, it will reduce the air condition level in your vehicle and not maintaining the condition of the cool air inside of the vehicle for long time. Therefore, if you feel the A/C is not well and not cooling the vehicle, you must be checked whether there is a gas leakage in you’re A/C system. There are some other reasons to reduce the A/C system cooling performance as well. Here I have listed some of well-known facts as follows.

• Stretch the drive belt more that to its tension level. 
• Block the air flow which is flowing through the condenser and radiator.
• Due to the refrigerant oil leakage, oil leak spots can be seen on compressor, hoses, pipes and fitting.
• Compressor mounting brackets loose or errors.  
• Missing the service port cap.

If not, it’s good to run the A/C at least for 10 to 20 minutes per week. But some people didn’t put the A/C ON to reduce the fuel consumption. Actually, it will not enhance the fuel consumption. Assume that you OFF the A/C, then you open the shutters to control the inside heating condition. After you open the shutters, the air will come into the vehicle and it will a problem to the aerodynamics of the vehicle. Therefore, you need extra force to drive the vehicle and engine is going to generate an extra force. Thus, the losing of the fuel consumption is getting high somehow even you shut down the A/C. And also due to the air coming from outside, the vehicle interior parts get dirty. Whatever, remember to put ON the A/C at least 10 to 20 minutes per week. It will prevent to ruin the compressor seal and stop blocking the hose.

Set you A/C to the coolest level, leverage the fan speed into the highest speed level. Then put the defrost mode and run the A/C for 10 minutes. This method will clean the A/C system, loose the fungi and muddy smell. A/C system on a vehicle is not only cooling the inside of the vehicle but also it will stop the humidity inside of the vehicle. Therefore, you have to put the A/C on even a rainy day. Otherwise the windscreen will influence with moisture. 

Never run you’re A/C system either in low oil volume or gas, it will not good for the compressor. Normally, 10% of A/C gas is permeating from A/C system per year. Therefore, it is better to check the A/C system and refill the gas every two years. So, make sure to check and diagnose your A/C system before starting the summer. Then you do not want to worry about the environmental heat and you have more time to repair the compressor after the diagnostic.
