How to create a virtual machine - Part I

Single computer can only have one running operating system. However, If we install another operating system in other drive in computer hard disk we may have to restart our computer to run that operating system. But there is a method to run whatever the OS that you have installed in you machine without above disadvantages is called than Virtual Machine!

In this concept the Virtual Machine, we can work with major OS that is already running on your computer and as well as you can work with another software which is installed by another OS. Thus, we can name that OS and software implementation as VM - Virtual Machine.

So the VM is some kind of an environment we can work with another OS with software implementation. We have to create the VM in the OS that we are going to install in the computer. Whatever, if we don't want to use the VM, we can remove it as well. Another thing that we have to know, when we are working with VM, it may not occur problems to your original OS ever.

First we have to install specific software to create the VM. There are many. But here we used 'Virtual Box' software because it is not only totally free which is provided by Oracle but also it is an Open Source software.

After downloading Virtual Box, the file we can get it as a STAP file. Then installed it by double click on it. We can also download it wherever, and copy to an USB drive, then we can install it in another PC. That means we don't need the internet connection to install the Virtual Box. After installation gets complete you can open it by going through Start menu. Thus Open you Virtual Box program.

Start --> All Programs --> Oracle VM Virtual Box. It will open up the window 'Oracle VM Virtual Box Manager'

Now you can get some experience about the stuff of Virtual Machine concept. On next tutorial, lets see how to create a Virtual Machine.
