Reset a PaloAlto Firewall into its Factory Default Settings

Nowadays, one of my tech friend is reading for a Paloalto exam and he is doing many practical stuffs and labs as a preparation. In some cases he wants to reset the firewall into its factory reset setting because he needs to reconfigure the firewall for his next lab. Today I'm going to share how the thing was happen and below let's focus how to reset the firewall to factory default settings.

First, you have to login to the firewall with its login credentials. Then enter 'debug system maintenance-mode'. This will force the firewall to reboot in the maintenance mode. After rebooting the firewall, press enter to continue to the maintenance mode menu. Select 'Factory Reset' and press enter. Again you have to select the same clause and press enter to continue. Then firewall will reboot without any configuration settings. Use default username/password (admin/admin) to log into the firewall.

Very simple stuff to follow. If you have any questions or issues, please don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers.
